Friday Greetings !
A super cool line up today beginning with:
STEPHANIE’S CHIC ON THE CHEAP IDEAS
It’s not too late to add another few peek-a-boo things around our homes just in time for Christmas.
LOVE the gift wrapped pizza boxes! What a trick idea.
My favorite pizza is and always has been Italian Sausage + Green Pepper — thin crust. Ordering now so I can eat the contents and wrap the box!
((Little fun fact))
My first job at the age of 16 was working at Pizza Hut in Billings, Montana. Employees got to order a small pizza while working a shift to either eat on break or take it home. My second favorite was Taco Pizza! *sigh* Taco Pizza is no longer on their menu. Boo
Perhaps Dixie will share a pizza story from the 2 of us when it was 2 degrees in Montana and we were traveling home from work one cold night. Dixie?
Christmas Wish – Pizza Hut! Please bring back the Taco Pizza!! I’ll support you weekly! Pinky swear.
OMG – the ornaments strung at random lengths from a tree branch has totally captured my attention. What a cool idea.
AND – Oh WOW – What a magic fireplace mantel. I’m with you, Steph, dream mantel for sure.
QUICK QUESTION
My favorite Christmas song is Little Drummer Boy. And this is the most fantastic performance EVER — LITTLE DRUMMER BOY — a must watch listen. Trust me.
ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT
Is Hilarious and Spot on!
3 FLAVORED BUTTERS
Are yet another tried-and-true unique Christmas gift that will never be forgotten. So delish.
I totally agree with Dr. Seuss — “Christmas doesn’t come from a store … it means more.”
Thanks everyone for sliding by and giving us a piece of your valuable day + sharing + commenting. We are grateful.
Here we go!
STEPHANIE’S CHIC
ON THE CHEAP
Hey Beautiful People!
Let’s talk about some fun, easy and inexpensive Christmas crafts!
Pics #1 & #2
Involve gift wrapping pizza boxes.
(( Best part regarding this decorating idea is you get to order a bunch of pizzas to get the boxes. ))
Wrap and hang them on the wall or lean them on your fireplace mantle. They’re light weight and easy to hang with Command Hooks that won’t damage your walls and they’re available at most hardware stores and look like this *Command Hooks*.
Pic #3
Display ornaments and greenery from a tree branch. I have a ton of old ornaments stored away. I could make several of these cool pieces just from what I already have. Use fishing line or macrame cord to tie ornaments to the tree branch. Maybe one 5″, one 7″, another 3″, 4″, 8″, 12″ etc … Nothing is uniform here. BEAUTIFUL CREATIVE FUN.
Pic #4
This is not a craft — but a picture of my dream Christmas fireplace mantle. I love the classic Santa picture and the traditional red plaid + touches of black to make it all *POP*.
Next week – I’ll be sharing some fashion ideas on how to jazz up a Christmas T-Shirt!
Big Loves!
Have a great weekend.

QUICK QUESTION
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS SONG?
ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT
I included this last year in Daymaker – and I love the fun of it so much, thought it worthy of a do-over!
So the story goes:
A young man, John, received a parrot as an early Christmas gift. The parrot had a very bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird’s mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity.
John tried and tried to change the bird’s attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to ‘clean up’ the bird’s vocabulary.
Finally, John was fed up and yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back.
John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder.
John, in desperation, threw up his hands, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes, the parrot squawked, kicked and screamed.
Then suddenly it was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute.
Fearing that he’d hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the freezer.
The parrot calmly stepped out onto John’s outstretched arm and said, “I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions.
“I’m sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior.”
John was stunned at the changes in the bird’s attitude.
As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird spoke very softly, “May I ask what the turkey did?”

CHRISTMAS GIFTS
OF GOOD TASTE
FABULOUS-FLAVOR BUTTERS
These 3 become 1 impressive gift! Garlic Butter and Chili Butter slices are excellent on pasta, rice, baked potatoes, veggies, on top of a steak or fried eggs in the morning. Place the 3 with “Tootsie Roll” twists with a piece of colorful ribbon on both sides and tuck all inside a pretty little bag – (think treat bags) from a local artsy-hobby store.
HERE’S HOW WE MAKE THEM:
ROASTED GARLIC BUTTER
- 2 sticks salted butter, room temperature
- 3 large, whole heads of garlic
- 1 TBSP olive oil
- dash of salt and pepper on each head
PREHEAT OVEN TO 375*
- Peel away any excess outer papery skin from garlic heads
- Slice a thin layer of the “crown” off so fresh garlic cloves are exposed
- Place individual garlic heads on pieces of foil (enough foil so you can wrap them up tightly)
- Drizzle 1 tsp olive oil on the top of each garlic head
- Wrap heads tightly with foil and bake 30-45 minutes
- Remove from oven, open foil and let cool slightly
- Gently squeeze roasted garlic cloves out of their peeling onto a plate. Mash with a fork
- In a medium mixing bowl, blend butter, mashed garlic, salt and pepper with a hand mixer until well combined
- Place enough of butter mix on a length of foil, roll into a 1 1/2″ cylinder, squeezing to gently remove air pockets. Twist foil ends like a “Tootsie Roll”
- Refrigerate until ready to gift. And let the recipient know to keep in fridge as well
CHILE BUTTER
- 2 sticks of butter, room temperature
- 1 TBSP each, dark chile powder and smoked paprika
- Blend butter and chile powders in medium mixing bowl with a hand mixer
- see steps #9 and #10 from above
CINNAMON VANILLA BUTTER
Excellent on waffles, pancakes, toast, biscuits
- 2 sticks butter, room temperature
- 2 TBSP powdered sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp good quality vanilla
- Blend butter with sugar, cinnamon and vanilla in medium bowl with a hand mixer
- Add 2 TBSP festive colored sugar sprinkles and mix with a fork
- See steps #9 & #10 from above
Little Drummer Boy is my favorite Christmas Carol too and I was blown away by this rendition – miles away from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir version and does it ROCK! WOW!
Stephanie’s crafts are creative, fun and make an impressive statement. And they aren’t complicated. Yay! Her Santa on the mantle intrigues me. Ideas starting to form. . .
Attitude Adjustment made me chuckle – out loud 😉
Happy weekend!
The drummer boy rendition brought tears to my eyes! Love it! I agree. I love Stephanie’s arts and crafts; they are a hit!
Love it that you totally enjoyed the rendition! Powerful for sure!
FOR KING AND COUNTRY (at least the 2 brothers who lead the band) are originally outta Australia. That performance is 3 years old. I remember how much Peter loved it. Was his last Christmas. He forwarded that song to all his mates in Australia and they loved it too. Pride factor of them being talented Australian artists.
Thanks for the love + reading + commenting + sharing.
SLEIGH BELLS RING
????????????
Love it!
Hi Stacy –
Thanks for the support!
JINGLE BELLS
Christmas begins when I hear the song, “Do you hear what I hear? Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy…” Bing Crosby. And to STEPHANIE, a round of Christmas applause as I have numerous boxes of left over decorations that I’m going to string as suggested. Great idea. Thank you.
Bing Crosby! Silver Bells sung by Bing was the first carol I heard this year while shopping.
I’d have to say Do you hear what I hear is my 2nd favorite Christmas song and Whitney Houston singing it is goose bump stuff.
Thanks for reading + commenting + sharing.
FA-LA-LA-LA-LA
I love that Christmas song, too!
❤️
Thanks for the love!
