TOP OF THE MORNING | MAY 13
Monday Morning Greetings!
Brand new week full of peek-a-boo moments ready to pop out if we spot them. Be on the lookout.
How was your weekend?
Great weekend here.
Did a GIANT burn of branches, twigs, limbs and leaves that have been accumulating for months and months and thanks to help from my neighbor/friend, Trent, who came over and put eyes on it to make sure all was safe - lit it - and then I was good to go. Hose + pitch fork + shovel to continue feeding the fire until it was gone-baby-gone!
Another purge - but this time outside.
Thanks, Trent!
Presenting today's line-up of treasures I found to share!
Beginning with:
"Recipe" for Making Our Own Potting Soil
Not only cost efficient - the best of the best DIY.
I've heard of worm castings - never really understood exactly what that whole thing was all about - now I do - and to be able to purchase them in a bag? I'm in!
Prominent Internet Slang Words
Don't know about you - but I sure like to be "in the know" about everything words going on in what I read -- and now I'm more in the know. And you do, too!

BONJOUR
HOWDY
Happy Friday. Super fun read for this first Friday in May 2024 + exciting NEWS!
Beginning with exciting NEWS!
Stephanie's Chic on the Cheap from here forward is Stacy's World. Stephanie and Stacy are one and the same.
Beginning next week Stacy will pop in every other week - or weekly depending on her schedule - with her Stacy's World column and share fantastics, not just fashion tips and tricks, but recipes, DIY cool ideas for home and life, adventurers around town and elsewhere, cool product finds, entertaining ideas, where to find chic on the cheap and So. Much. More. As in whatever strikes her fancy! I'm super excited and thrilled that Stacy is such a giant part of Daymaker Readable Art with her innovativeness.
I love Katiedid Langrock's writing. This piece - Memory Climb - yes, I sometimes think about the good old days from my younger years. However, she's braver than I taking those memories on. Ha!
QUICK QUESTION
What's the funniest sounding instrument to me? All can be funny depending on how they're played and what's being played. Without a doubt the childhood instrument of grade school -- the RECORDER is my answer. HA!! Do kids still play the recorder in grade school I wonder.
3 THINGS IN LIFE
WEDNESDAY READER | JANUARY 3
Hi Everyone!
How's the New Year going so far (all of 3 days - ha)? All's well in my world.
Presenting Wednesday Reader on this first Wednesday of 2024.
Lots of fun packed in this episode for reading + thought enjoyment. Beginning with:
POP QUIZ
Reminded me how much I love(d) "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and, yes, the song "Moon River." Totally gonna find + watch + re-visit that classic.
QUICK QUESTION
Best compliment I think I can give to someone -- you matter. Whether spoken or implied. I love it when I hear it or feel it from someone. How about you?
GRAVESIDE SERVICE STORY
Is a funny, for sure.
LIMA BEAN SOUP
What?! Yes! Seriously good, unique, tried-and-true. The magic (as is usually the case with anything involving beans) start with dried beans. And have you ever had a grilled Pimento Cheese + Ham sandwich? No? Now's the time! Yes? Lima Bean Soup and Grilled Cheese Pimento Sandwiches with or without ham are soup mates for sure!
WEDNESDAY READER | NOVEMBER 8
GREETINGS friends (!)
Presenting Wednesday's Reader.
Another great line-up today beginning with:
Quick Question - What's the key to living a good life? It took me a few years to live my answer ... it's Peace. Love. Joy. You?
Mind Games is a mind tripper. I got tripped up on a couple.
Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread Recipe is one that I clipped from a magazine years ago. We made lots and lots of loaves to sell at Hippie Cowboy this time of year. It's a simple recipe to whip up, the aroma coming out of the oven as it bakes is spectacular and the bread is outta this world delicious and moist. I totally guarantee that you will not be disappointed. It's beautiful goodness.
TOP OF THE MORNING | FEBRUARY 13
Greetings Monday. Hello happy people.
Well, tomorrow's Valentine's Day. Do you have a favorite Valentine's memory from when you were a kid?
I fondly recall what a blast it was to take an empty shoe box to school -- the teacher setting aside time for several days in a row when we got a break from chalkboard teaching -- and were set free to create and decorate our cool personalized Valentine's Day boxes.
Remember? The little mailbox sort of thing where classmates slipped a little card in - on the day.
Bonus! The party. Moms brought in sweet treats: cupcakes, punch, little sandwiches, candy.
Good times!
Happy Valentine's Day (!)
Scooped up these wonderful 12 for today. Click and enjoy the entertainment.
Dear Annie's sage thoughts to a Reader's statement.
So thrilled that you're here.
WEDNESDAY READER | NOVEMBER 9
Happy November!
Welcome falling leaves, sweaters, delicious smells happening in the kitchen on the stove and in the oven. Shorter (feeling) days with the daylight pretty much gone around here by 6 pm.
Here's this Wednesday's Read. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed assembling it.
Have a great day and rest of your week and as always, grateful that you're here.
