RECIPES:
ORANGE JULIUS!
Yes, please! I totally remember the little shops in the mall and yes, I was – AM – a fan.
Gonna be making Orange Juilius’ in the blender all summer long.
Hello, happy, yummy sip ‘n skip down memory lane!
TUNA PATTIES
This recipe has my full attention! Appetizer get togethers with family/friends or just me for lunch or light dinner when the heat is full on.
SWEET POTATO CORNBREAD
What?!
I’ve shared the sweet potato biscuit recipe we made at Hippie Cowboy which customers were wild about.
Absolutely no reason why this sweet potato cornbread recipe won’t be equally fabulous! Year ’round!
((Think for breakfast instead of a donut or muffin with a cold brew glass of coffee. A side-kick for a small butter lettuce salad. Side kick for a bowl of borracho beans. And come fall and winter – any and all soups and stews.))
GREEK OLIVE PASTA SALAD
Wow!
Is there such a thing as too many pasta salad variations/recipes during the full throttle summer temps coming our way? I think not. Another winner to add to our rotation to prepare and be delighted.
NO BAKE COCONUT DELIGHT

Coconut + No bake?
My hand is raised with a high five!

STAY YOUNG
THROW OUT NON-ESSENTIAL NUMBERS:
This includes age, weight and height.
Let the doctors worry about this. That’s why we pay them.
KEEP ONLY CHEERFUL FRIENDS:
The grouches will pull you down.
(Keep this in mind if you’re one of those grouches.)
KEEP LEARNING:
Learn more about computers, crafts, gardening, whatever.
Never let the brain get idle.
ENJOY THE SIMPLE THINGS:
Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
And if you have a friend who makes you laugh, spend lots and lots of time with him/her.
TEARS HAPPEN:
Endure, grieve and move on.
The only person who is with us our entire life, is oneself. LIVE while you are alive.
SURROUND YOURSELF WITH WHAT YOU ENJOY:
Family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies … whatever.
Your home is your refuge.
CHERISH YOUR HEALTH:
If it’s good, preserve it. If it’s unstable, improve it.
If it’s beyond what you can improve, get help.
DON’T TAKE GUILT TRIPS:
Take a trip shopping, for a walk, visit a friend or colleague in the hospital, go even to the next county,
or to another state, BUT NOT where guilt is.
CLEAN AND TIDY:
Keep your home, yard, vehicle, etc … clean and tidy.
It’s quite amazing what it does for the mind.
LOVE:
Tell the people you love that you love them dearly at every opportunity.

I am all about that sweet potato cornbread recipe!
I know, right?!
Just can’t be anything but a terrific make and bake – anytime and anywhere!
Taking Chance and President Reagan’s Memorial Day speech brought tears to my eyes and filled my heart with love and pride for those heroes we are celebrating today. May they rest in peace.
Always appreciate cleaning hacks.
And I saved all of today’s recipes. Lots of yummy in my future!
Oh, yes, those bridges! Absolutely amazing! My favorites were the Italian bridges with shops, apartments, etc. So unique and history-filled.
Thanks DayMaker.
Have a restful Memorial Day.
Teary eyes for me, too, Carol, and full heart of love and pride.
So glad you enjoyed the read and recipes saved for yummy in near future!
Yeah, those Italian bridges with shops, apartments, etc … is something I did not even know about. Cool concept for sure.
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts.
BEAUTIFUL
Love the car wash story! We are facing that challenge now with Brooke being a recent graduate and trying to enter the workforce. Kudos to dad for being creative! That article just might inspire me to do something different to help my daughter and others on the spectrum.
Yay for inspiration reading the Car Wash story!
Kudos to you, as well, for perhaps thinking of something different to help Brooke and others on the spectrum.
Love it!
Daymaker’s points to ponder: 1) KEEP LEARNING: I’m very aware of this as our Mom would often say , “Learn something new everyday.” She did and all 6 of us kids adopted it. 2) ENJOY THE SIMPLE THINGS: Well, currently we have male and female finches busily building a nest 3 feet from our kitchen window. We are excited as we’ll soon be “grandparents.” 3) “Laugh often. Laugh until you gasp for breath.” I often recall those many times when we couldn’t stop laughing. It’s amazing how it miraculously squeaks out another form of laughter! Dr. Norman Cousins wrote a book entitled, “Laughter, the Best Medicine”. Who can’t deny that fact!
Laughter the best medicine – I’ve heard about this title. And, indeed, I can’t deny. Laughter!
Thanks, Marty, for reading and thoughts.
Much appreciated.
Love the dad story and Reagan speech ❤️
AGREE, J –
