Greetings all!

Happy Friday!

Super fun line up today :

Stephanie’s Chic on the Cheap about nails is totally insider’s information shared today by Stephanie.  Tried and true.  And the color!  Classy, fabulous and matches anything you might be wearing or think about wearing.

Quick Question – What do I miss about my youth?  Easy.  Foot loose and fancy free!  Mom and/or Dad had it all taken care of.  How about you?

Cinch Strap Sandwich is incredibly good.  Meat lovers – you’ll love this sandwich and won’t miss the absence of meat!  Should probably call it Fresh-picked-from-the garden sandwich delight.  Cinch Strap is more fun.  I think.

Humorous Church reader boards – They’re tongue-in-cheek — made ya think.

The 5 songs for today are gentle and peaceful and a fun listen.  Hope you have a little extra time to give them a listen.

As always, always, always – so thankful for your time in giving us a read today + commenting and sharing.  Daymakers one and all!

Here we Go:

STEPHANIE’S CHIC ON THE CHEAP

LET’S DO OUR NAILS

Hey, Hey, Hey!

I get asked a lot from my clients how I keep my nails so healthy looking AND what color I wear all the time.

PIC #1

I discovered years ago this nail strengthening product, NAILTIQUES.  My nails were very thin and chipped all the time.  The nail product distributor for our salon introduced me to this fantastic product.

It’s a protein based product and dries almost instantly.

At the time when I first learned about NAILTIQUES, we could only buy it from a distributor.

However!!  I have seen it for sale at CVS pharmacy.

I actually buy my bottle of NAILTIQUES online.  And it lasts a long while.

There are different formulas – Formula #2 is the best.

At first, I just used NAILTIQUES alone. To strengthen my nails.

Now that my nails are strong and healthy — I use it as my trusty base coat under my nail polish color.  This product saved my nails — seriously!

PIC #2

The color I wear on my nails – always – is from OPI.  “Many Celebrations to Go”  #9106.  Buy it online.  Hard to find elsewhere.

I only have to use one coat of this color over the NAILTIQUE base.  It’s so forgiving – as in when painting your own nails – because it’s a neutral color (think classy).  If your nails aren’t perfectly polished — no one will be the wiser.

PIC #3

Finish your nails with one last coat.  I use Sally Hansen Clear Coat Therapy as the top coat.

My hands are in water and work with hair chemicals all day and my polish never chips using this 3 layer process.

I only have to re-polish my nails every 10-12 days!

((Pro Tip))

If you’re doing your own nails, I suggest investing in professional grade nail files.  They’re inexpensive when you buy them on-line.  I usually purchase them in a bulk of 12 = $1/each.

Cheaply made files can absolutely cause chipping and peeling.

((Additional Pro Tip))

If you have trouble opening your nail polish bottle – you know kind of gets stuck – simply wrap a rubber band around the top and it will turn easy-peasy!  Voila!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND

QUICK QUESTION

WHAT DO YOU MISS MOST ABOUT BEING YOUNGER?

CINCH STRAP SANDWICH

LET’S MAKE A DELICIOUS SANDWICH

  • Start with a fresh bread from the bakery (think Ciabatta), sliced medium thin
  • Thinly sliced cucumber
  • Sliced fresh tomato
  • Thinly sliced red onion
  • Thinly sliced Provolone cheese
  • Sprouts (like alfalfa) – if you can’t find sprouts – slivers of butter lettuce work great too
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Vinaigrette
  • Softened Cream Cheese
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper

NOW WE PREPARE THE SANDWICH(s)

Spread softened cream cheese on one half of sliced bread.  Squirt vinaigrette on other half.

Place a generous layer of cucumbers and tomatoes on one half.  Now add a thin layer of red onion and sprinkle on sunflower seeds and sprouts or lettuce.  Salt and Pepper it to your liking.

LAST

Top with slices of Provolone cheese.

Close sandwich up and serve with fruit or chips.

Ta-DAH!

Stephanie’s tips came at just the right time – my nails badly need some TLC and I just don’t have time for professional manicures. As soon as I finish this, I’m going online to order everything she suggested.

The Cinch Strap Sandwich sounds familiar – didn’t you serve it at Cowboy? I can’t wait to make it home.

Loved the church humor and the music.

    Y’all have a great weekend!

      Right On, Carol –

Yes, indeed, you remember the Cinch Strap sandwich! We served it at the Cowboy.

Pretty sure you were this sandwich’s biggest fan! As I recall.

Have a great weekend, as well!

Hey Carol this is Stephanie. You will love this product. When you first use the Nailtique apply 1 coat every other day until you have applied 4 or 5 coats then remove all the polish and start over until your nails are the strength you want. Then use Nailtique as your base coat under your polish. Also the OPI polish I think looks best with just one coat. Keep me posted with your results. Thanks.

Re: What Do You Miss Most About Being Younger? Well, that’s easy. I recall saying to my husband a few years back that my mind never even knows it has a body! It quietly gets out of bed each morning and comes along unnoticed. Then comes more birthdays! Oh, mercy me, it seems I have to coax every inch of my body out of bed with a promise that if it can just get me to the kitchen for my coffee there will be no demands for at least an hour.
    So far it’s working.
