GREETINGS
FROM CHERYL
Hello Everyone,
How has your week been?
Mine good.
Welcome to 5 for Friday on this August 25.
QUICK QUESTION
What do you do when you hear something fall in the middle of the night when you’re in bed?
I do a big gulp, get out of bed – because I just gotta know where that noise came from. To date – it’s usually cat related. HA
STEPHANIE’S CHIC ON THE CHEAP
never disappoints with all of her cool fashion ideas! And egg cartons for storing tiny little necklaces? Fabulous idea! I’m on it.
#4 PICTURE
A book for sale at an outdoor venue. I had to laugh. Because – I surely won’t laugh at a live dragon should I see one.
SWEET AND TART TARRAGON CHICKEN SALAD
recipe is delicious. Different – and I feel pretty confident won’t disappoint. Give it a try.
5 SONGS ON THE PLAYLIST
today are 5 favorites of mine. Hopefully, you have a few minutes to give it a listen.
As always, we are thankful for your time POPPING in and giving us a read + sharing + comments. You guys totally make my day!
QUICK QUESTION
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU HEAR SOMETHING FALL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WHILE YOU ARE IN BED?
STEPHANIE’S
CHIC ON THE CHEAP
Hello Friends –
I love my large statement jewelry pieces. I also love small dainty jewelry – especially several pieces layered which is very trendy right now. PIC #1
I almost purchased a 3 tiered layered piece already put together (as in a single necklace – tiered) the other day.
Then I thought, Hold on, Steph, you already have plenty of small chains and necklaces. Go see what you can put together with what you already have.
I came up with a lot of fun – combinations. I took a photo of three of them to share with you all. PIC #2.
I think when wearing minimalistic pieces, all the jewelry you pair should also be minimalistic. A large bracelet with tiny necklaces would clash. My opinion.
I include a photo of necklace extenders PIC #3.
When layering dainty necklaces, you can attach one of these extenders (if needed) to balance your tiered lengths.
((PRO TIP))
I store all of my small chains separated in egg cartons.
They don’t get tangled up and are easy to find. We all know how frustrating it can be to untangle tiny chains.
It’s really fun to dig through your personal jewelry and create a one-of-a-kind statement piece at no extra cost!
Enjoy your Friday!
SWEET AND TART TARRAGON CHICKEN SALAD
This tasty Chicken Salad is one of my personal favorites. Its unique flavor of sweet and tart + tarragon all at the same time is a sensational taste bud treat. Serve on thinly sliced artisan bread as a sandwich – or with water crackers as a light lunch or dinner.
HERE’S HOW WE MAKE IT:
4 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast
PREHEAT OVEN TO 375*
Pour 1 1/2 cups of water in the bottom of a large baking sheet. Place chicken breasts in a single layer in the water.
Cap with foil.
Place in preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes.
WHILE CHICKEN IS BAKING – IN A LARGE BOWL COMBINE
- 1 cup red seedless grapes, cut in half
- 2 Granny Smith apples, cored and cut in small size chunks (think dime size)
- 1 cup celery, thinly sliced
NOW IN A SEPARATE BOWL – IT’S TIME TO PREPARE THE DRESSING
- 2 1/4 cups good quality mayonnaise
- 3 TBSP cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 TBSP dried Tarragon
- salt and pepper to taste
WHISK UNTIL SMOOTH
When the chicken is completely cooked through, remove from the oven and let sit on the counter until it is cool enough to handle.
Cut into 1″ cubes and toss in the bowl with grapes, apples celery.
NEXT
Stir in the dressing and mix through.
Refrigerate until chilled.

MUSIC FOR YOUR EARS
I loved Stephanie’s guidance on jewelry chains today. I have beautiful pendants that I’ve collected through years of travel but feel guilty that I only wear a small percent. Why? I Iack interesting chains as well as “short length options”. Maybe Stephanie could continue her “course” at a later date.
I agree, loving Stephanie’s fashion input. She always looks so chic!
Great read as always!
Thank ya, Stacy. Thanks for reading + commenting. Appreciate it. Happy weekend.
I love the chicken salad recipe, as one of my favorite spices is Tarragon. Yummy! Stephanie, I love the idea of placing necklaces in an egg carton! I, too, have the necklace extenders, I am a layer as well. What a great 5 for Friday!
Dixie
Hey Dixie – Chicken salad is fabulous for sure.
Have a great weekend!
When I hear a loud noise at night, my heart pounds like a drum and I get v-e-r-y still and listen on high alert until I’m sure everything’s ok. The chicken salad sounds perfect for a covered dish meeting I’m going to next week, and I love Stephanie’s idea of storing small jewelry in an egg carton. Happy weekend!
Hi Carol!
Heart pounding like a drum and listening on high alert — totally get both of those feelings when something is out of the ordinary — especially in the middle of the night!
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed (nor those in attendance at the meeting) with the Chicken salad recipe.
Thanks so much for your comments + reading. Makes me smile.
Happy weekend, Daymaker!
Have to admit that I’m a Daymaker junkie. So look forward to each one and more often than not, it puts a smile on my face (or I LOL) and it sets the mood for the day. Truly and Daymaker! Nice job, Ladies!
