Greetings friends –
It’s Friday!
Time to get more HAPPY on!
How has the week treated you?
Mine – delightful and productive and joined Stacy and her husband, Rick, yesterday and we did the early voting thing.
After casting our paper ballots, the 3 of us slid by a local, favorite spot and enjoyed a beer and appetizers together, laughed and hung out with pals in our little community.
When I got home — I transferred the tiny round sticker from my t-shirt to the kitchen wall calendar on the date of October 24th, 2024.
My Vote = It Matters.
Go get your sticker!

The worst score I ever received on a test?
I’ll take it one step further — I got a “D” on my report card in 5th grade in History.
Our dad traveled for business during those days and he would call in every night and do a short visit my sisters and I before talking to Mom for much longer.
On this particular night I told him with tears rolling down my cheeks, “Dad I got a ‘D’ on my report card in History. ‘D’ stands for dumb.”Dad said to me, and I will never forget, “No, sweetie, ‘D’ stands for Didn’t study enough.”
I’ll never forget our telephone conversation that evening and I did not ever get another ‘D’ again. Lesson learned from 5th grade to today.

- If the horse you’re drawing looks more like a dog, make it a dog.
- Save a place in line for your friends.
- Sometimes you have to take the test before you’ve finished studying.
- If you want a kitten, start out asking for a horse.
- Just keep banging until someone opens the door.
- There is no good reason why clothes have to match.
- You work so hard pedaling up the hill that you hate to brake on the way down.
- You can’t ask to start over just because you’re losing the game.

Daymaker asks, “What important things have you learned from kids?”
I would say my grandchildren have taught me to enjoy them when they are happy and when they are not so happy!
Bottom line: Let all children know that they are special by a soft smile or adding a few words of encouragement– OR the big bonus prize: Cookies and donut holes!
