7 Best Space Heaters Ranked
As our temperatures go down-down-down during the fall and winter seasons and the heating bill goes up-up-up, I found this article most informative.
I am a fan of quality space heaters, whether in my office/ study as I work by day or in my bedroom at night.
Quality is the operative word and this article gives us the low down on best space heaters to search out should we want to bring one or two into our homes. My Eden Pure – which was purchased years ago – when Paul Harvey was doing his 12 noon monologue is still glowing + humming and adding welcome warmth to wherever space I move it to.
Love this work horse machine that works as hard and flawlessly as it did the day it arrived and fresh outta the box! These magnificent 7 also totally have my attention.

Tulip Bulbs Plantings in both Garden and Planters
I love seeing tulips popping up in spring.
Same Daffodils.
I’m totally on board with not necessarily doing a mass planting in a big garden area – but bursts of spring flowers in planters here and there and everywhere.
Bouquet presentations!

PLAYGROUND GAMES WE PLAYED
AS KIDS THAT AREN’T PLAYED ANYMORE
Ahhhh – sweet memories.
I remember all fondly. They were fun and full of energy and competitive spirit. I
can honestly say I don’t recall at any time these games being mean spirited.
They were just games — after all.
Do you remember playing these games — back in the good ol’ days?
- MUSICAL CHAIRS
This game doesn’t fly anymore because of all the pushing and shoving.
But also, in the modern litigious society, it’s possible schools banned it because
they couldn’t clear the musical rights. Ha - RED ROVER
If you don’t know this one, Red Rover involves two teams on opposite sides holding hands.
One team says, “Red Rover, Red Rover send [name of a kid on the other team] over.
Then the said named kid sprints at the other team trying to break through two of the other
team’s kids holding hands. - DODGE BALL
Dodge ball is the ultimate banned game. The strong ganging up against the weak, sort of thing.
If you played it — you know what that means. - TETHERBALL
The punching is enough to get tetherball on a banned list of games. That and a kid could accidentally
get tangled by the rope and then concussed by a flying ball. It’s enough to end tetherball’s dreams of
ever making a comeback. - KING OF THE HILL
In King of the Hill, one kid is on top of any sort of elevated option — an actual hill, a pitcher’s mound, etc …
and other kids try to fight him off to temporarily stand on top. - SLUG BUG
It’s a shame kids can’t punch kids anymore when they see a VW because it would be an educational
opportunity for knowing colors like cerulean and Slug bug persimmon! (Wham!) - SNOWBALL FIGHTS
Hurling anything — even soft fluffy ones — is now a no go. Even if your helicopter mom put you in six
coats, two gloves, three hats, a scarf, 12 pairs of socks and boots so you can’t possibly feel a snowball
hit you or even a boulder. - CRACK THE WHIP
Remember? Crack the Whip was when kids hold hands and form a long chain. The kid in front runs
around trying to get the kids on the back of the chain to “whip” off and fall. There wasn’t a real objective
or winner, just a lot of falling down. - DUCK DUCK GOOSE
Well, the game consists of one kid touching another kid on the head to tag him as Goose. And Goose runs around
trying to touch another kid’s head to tag him Goose.
I like the idea of container planting with bulbs. Great Artwork! Great Read!
Daymaker’s list of childhood games not played anymore brought a bit of sadness to my memory for I was an elementary school teacher and we played all of those games listed at recess. The kids loved them and of course we the teachers were always there to monitor good sportsmanship. Of course those were the days the teacher’s voice reigned and there was no arguing about it. Thanks Daymaker for reminding all of us readers of the good old days.
I remember these games — such fun times!
We can’t forget the slide swings and don’t forget about the round merry-go-round that was fun but they would never allow that now in the name of safety.
But, somehow, we all managed to survive those things.
I think it made us a little tougher🤣
Kudos on the new subscribers and the streamlined format. The chickpea salad has my mouth watering and the sausage/biscuit/egg casserole is at the top of my list for Thanksgiving weekend. Nostalgic about the childhood games. Sorry for current generations who will never know them. 😥. Great start to the week!!!
