Homemade Chocolate Syrup Recipe

HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE SYRUP

March 3rd greetings friends!

Tomorrow is Fat Tuesday (aka the official last day of the Carnival celebration).

Having spent time in Louisiana — I know one thing — locals are loyal to Mardi Gras.  I think it’s called tradition.  Whether it’s parades, beads, music, happiness, food or just hanging out.
I honor their honor.

Little something interesting about Mardi Gras – who knew Mardi Gras translates from French to Fat Tuesday in English.  I sure didn’t.  I find it quite intriguing.  ** get the scoop here **

How was your first March weekend?
Ya know that old adage, “In like a lion and out like a lamb” — well, the lion hasn’t presented itself yet.  However, I have no doubt that we’ll get a little roar or two before end of March.

I had a great time collecting these fascinating(s) to share today.
Enjoy!

RITE OF PASSAGE

So the story goes …

Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth’s passage?
His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him and leaves him alone.

He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning shine through it.
He cannot cry out for help to anyone.  Once he survives the night, he is a MAN.

He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own.

The boy is naturally terrified.  He can hear all kinds of noises.  Wild beasts must surely be all around him.  Maybe even some human might do him harm.

The wind will blow the grass and the earth and shake the stump, but he must sit stoically never removing the blindfold.  It will be the only way he can become a man.

Finally, after a horrific night, the sun appears and he can remove his blindfold.
It is then that he discovers his father sitting on the stump next to him.  The father had been at watch the entire night protecting his son from  any harm.

Today’s Daymaker’s shredded taco beef recipe including the yummy looking photo has me signed up.

I’m rather amazed at myself that I NEVER get tired of Mexican food while other types of food I reject from time to time.

I so admire clever people who can see beyond the obvious and repurpose objects with style and imagination! Great article!

My grill meister has tried that Grilled mac and cheese recipe and I can attest to its deliciousness. Yummy and so worth trying.

Amazing cloud formations. More great recipes.

    Wow! What an issue!

I’ve done the smoked Mac and cheese. It’s a winner! Even better if you use the leftover brisket (chopped) and mix it in for different spin when you pull it out of the fridge later!
