ELEPHANT SCULPTURES + PINEAPPLE AVOCADO SALAD + MEDITERRANEAN TUNA SALAD + HILARIOUS ANIMAL ANTICS ON SOCCER FIELDS
Rise and shine!
It’s a brand new week full of possibilities and opportunities!
How was your weekend?
Hopefully full of chill – as in relaxation – after tasks you may or may not have had on your to do list. I had a few tasks that I accomplished and I did find some chill and enjoyed it.
Super-duper cool collection I found to share today.
BEGINNING WITH:
100 LIFE SIZE ELEPHANT SCULPTURES
On tour across the United States. Incredible!
These magnificent sculptures totally brought back to my memory the amazing story of the Elephant Whisperer: Lawrence Anthony.
If you have the time – it won’t be wasted watching this little YouTube piece about Lawrence Anthony. An amazing human being.
These “rogue” elephants Lawrence took in on his reserve eventually bonded with him and loved him. Most importantly, trusted him because of his kindness and care and patience. And when Lawrence passed away, the elephants somehow knew that he had died and they made the however long trek, single file, to the Anthony’s home to pay respects – and stayed around the perimeter of the home for over a day before going back into the bush on the reserve that was now their home thanks to Lawrence Anthony.
It’s goose bump stuff.

THIS BRILLIANT, INEXPENSIVE WAY TO KEEP SIDES CHILLED DURING SUMMER BBQs
Is totally happening around here when I take something, somewhere during the hot months of summer for a gathering.
17 HILARIOUS HIGHWAY SIGNS
I LOVE. LOVE. LOVE THE CLEVERNESS in posting safety messages via giant reader board signs on highways and interstates. I don’t know about you, but reading signs like these has my full attention. And I receive them loud and clear! Clap Clap.
HYDROGEN PEROXIDE = CLEANING BUDDY
I’m already a fan of these little tips!
EVERYDAY ITEMS WITH HIDDEN FEATURES
I know I’ve posted something similar in the past – but this article is the best I’ve come across. Why is there a hole in a padlock? Back loop of a shirt origin and purpose? Arrow next to a gas gauge? Bumps on the “F” and “J” keys on a keyboard?
RECIPES:
HOMEMADE RANCH DRESSING
I’m a die-hard fan of Ranch Dressing – on salads, dipping purposes, baked potatoes. Yes, I love the trail blazer little packets we can buy at the store and add buttermilk and mayo, certain shelf bottled brands (in a pinch) — but this easy recipe is absolutely the most delicious in my humble die-hard ranch fan opinion.
PINEAPPLE + AVOCADO SALAD
Wowzer! I would have never thought to pair the 2 but let me tell you what – it’s soooooo refreshing, good, satisfying, as a side or on its own with a piece of really great artisan bread.
WEEKNIGHT BUFFALO CHICKEN SANDWICH
I, like many I know, can’t resist ordering a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich off the menu at a restaurant. However, what intrigues me about this amazing recipe are 2 things: Shredded chicken (instead of the deep fried chunk of chicken breast) and the Pickle Slaw topping! OMG!
MEDITERRANEAN TUNA SALAD
Has a high five in the air from moi!
All tuna salads are not created equally.
And this recipe is 5 star love at first bite – whether by the spoonful in a bowl OR in between a fresh pita split down the middle for sandwich purposes.
SERRANO SWEET PEA GUACAMOLE
Super easy + innovative + makes a lot more than just doing the original tried-and true avocado guacamole that we’re all super familiar with. What’s not to love?
PINK LEMONADE CAKE
What? Yes! Nostalgic summertime in a slice of cake. I’m soooo in.
FUNNY MOMENTS WITH ANIMALS ON A SOCCER FIELD
Is a happiness fun watch and had me grinning from ear to ear. Crazy cool animals.
A cow? A kangaroo? Badger? Bunny Rabbit? Rooster? Cats? Pigeons + Seagulls? Dogs? A squirrel doing a twirly-twirl and dogs. Oh, the dogs were probably my favorites. They just wanted to come on the field and play with the ball or grab a shoe or glove. HAhaha
I also loved watching the players “fetching” the uninvited players on the field to move them off the field. The players were smiling, laughing and full of heart.
Winners all.
Animals and players!

AND THE SNORING STOPPED
The story goes —
Four guys were on a bike tour. No one wanted to room with Mick because he snored so badly.
They decided to take turns.
The first guy, Scooter, slept in Mick’s room the first night and went to breakfast the next morning with his hair a mess and his eyes all bloodshot. The friends were like, “Man, what happened to you?”
Scooter said, “Mick snored so loudly, I just sat up and watched him all night.”
The next night it was Jimmy’s turn.
In the morning when Jimmy went to breakfast the friends saw the same thing – hair all standing up, eyes blood shot.
They said, “Man, what happened to you? You look awful!”
Jimmy said, “Mick shakes the roof with his snoring. I sat up and watched him all night.”
The third night was Bill’s turn. He was a big, tanned, older biker — a man’s man.
The next morning Bill came to breakfast bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.
“Good morning,” Bill said to his friends.
They couldn’t believe it! “Man, what happened?”
Bill said, “Well, we got ready for bed. I went over and tucked him into bed, patted him on the bottom and kissed him good night on his forehead. Mick sat up and watched me all night.”

I can’t help but STOP and gaze. Now to today’s Elephant sculptures.
When going to the zoo the elephants are my first gotta see attraction. My attitude is “Bring my favorite chair, iced tea and come back in an hour or so!”
Well, naturally Daymakers ELEPHANT sculptures had me back in dream land Smiles to all.
