Mini Pimento Cheese Balls

MINI PIMENTO CHEESE BALLS

Hello friends,
Good Monday to you!

Yep, Groundhog day is yesterday’s news – but couldn’t help myself.
The cool illustration art is just too much happy to let it go for another year because it happened yesterday.

Well, as it turns out (according to my tiny Google search) Punxsutawney Phil – ya know the famous groundhog that predicts whether our weather will be 6  more weeks of winter or not.

Apparently, he saw his shadow yesterday in Punxsutawney, PA and we could be in for 6 more weeks of winter.

First of all – raise your hand if you can pronounce Punxsutawney.
I had no clue – but wanted to know.
Looked it up and here’s how it’s pronounced **listen here **

Little Phil Punxsutawney would have seen his shadow, as well, here in Texas –  it was sunny and the temps reached upper 70’s today!

I know, 70’s, What?!

Collected these funs to share today.
I hope you find a few things you didn’t know you needed but find joy and awe(some) in each and every one.

As always we thank you for sliding by this Monday, February 3rd, 2025!

And sharing + engaging + spreading Daymaker love.

Ready?
Set.
Here we roll.

RECIPE (!)
PULL APART MARDI GRAS CAKE
Carnival Season is happening!
Which for most of us outside Louisiana – translates to Mardi Gras.
It’s a lengthy celebration – as in weeks long.
Parades, parties, food.  Lots of fun festivals all over the state.

** Mardi Gras is actually just ONE DAY.  (As in the last day of the Carnival Season.)

However,  the King Cake is an absolute must!
Exactly like eggnog at Christmastime.
King Cake is readily available at supermarkets, vendors on the street and even at gas stations.
Yep, ’tis true.
Having spent a lot of time working on shows this time of year in Louisiana, I totally witnessed the unbreakable love affair Louisianans have with their beloved King Cake.
Me?
I just couldn’t wrap my taste buds around the green, gold, purple cake like thing so readily available.
However!
This innovative twist on the King Cake recipe has my full attention!
So, if you find yourself in a Mardi Gras mood – this recipe is for you/us.
Serve it wearing several strands of colorful beads wrapped about your neck!  ha

The little sea creature is the CUTEST ever! And so colorful! Just might inspire a painting. . .

Mini pimiento cheese balls – what a marvelous idea! And cowboy cornbread…yummy!

I am so with you on the King’s Cake. The garish green, purple, and yellow icings are just a turn off. BUT the recipe you shared is ELEGANT! The icing colors are tasteful and it comes together beautifully. I just may set aside some time to attempt it.

Belated Happy Ground Hog Day. Cool illustration!

Today’s Daymaker. I love pimento cheese as my Aunt Helen Lee made the best there ever was (unfortunately she left no recipe), therefore anytime I find recipes on Pimento Cheese I’m on the case. A round of applause for Daymaker’s easy way of finding additional detail on a featured subject is simply click the blue arrows provided. I clicked the blue arrows on microwave PIZZA and glad I did.
