NEW YEAR’S EVE APPETIZERS
Last Monday of 2024 greetings, friends –
I have my thinking cap on regarding my favorite take-aways of 2024.
Trying to zero in on my Top 4.
Can you name your top 4 off the top of your head?
Do you do New Year’s Resolutions?
Me? Not so much.
The whole New Year’s resolution thing has just never been a home run hit for me — kinda like a strict diet.
However, what I will strive to achieve in 2025 is to be better at the things I know I need to get better at, but without a verbal contract sort of thing. ha!
Collected this ton of fun to share today!
BEGINNING WITH:

+ 2024 IN MEMORY OF THE CELEBRITIES WE ALL KNEW PRETTY MUCH AS HOUSEHOLD NAMES WHO LEFT THIS YEAR
I was surprised, because I hadn’t heard the news of several or more.

AND THE SURVEY SAYS …
On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being not annoyed and 10 being super annoyed, here’s what one study found out about what bugs American adults most.
Hidden fees scored 8.9
Not able to get someone on the phone scored 8.6
Tail-gating rolled in at 8.3
Talking or texting while driving scored 8.0
Incomprehensible bills scored 7.8
Dog do-do left unscooped in public places scored 7.6
Space invaders (ya know those people standing behind you in line that are so close you can practical feel their breath on your neck) scored 7.5
Those who do not cover their mouths when they sneeze or cough scored a 7.5
The car you let cut in front of you who doesn’t bother to give a courtesy thank-you wave scored 7.4
All in all, the survey takers were asked about 20 annoying things.
Last place in this what bugs ya survey was inaccurate weather forecasts which scored a low 4.3.
Is there something to be learned from this?
Lowering our expectations of people from the outside world, I’m thinking.
We don’t really expect our weather forecasters to get it right very often, so when they don’t, we’re generally okay with it.

Add to the annoying list people I. The left lane driving slower than the speed limit and leaving 20 car lengths in front of them with no way to get around!
Make ya look twice photos…very cool!
Spinach artichoke rolls…yum!
The stacked villas are fascinating! And – it would seem – do away with yard work!!!
Loved the perfectly timed photos. Amazing, funny, whimsical, fun fun fun!
And those recipes! Loosening my belt 😉
Another year gone by. Good times with good friends. New friends. Lost friends. Good books. New insights. Good food. New spices. New beginnings. Sad endings. 2024 had it all.
Here’s to a SUPER 2025!!!
Before I write my New Year’s 2025 Resolutions —
I’m first going to check how successful 2024 was —
1st) To visit more women friends who live alone and are likely lonely: SCORE; A+.
It was wonderful
2nd) To visit my three Alzheimer’s friends more often.
Score: A.
3rd) To make my mom’s delicious raisin oatmeal cookies.
Score: D- I never made them, however, I gave myself a D- because I THOUGHT about it numerous times!!
NOW 2025 New Year’s Resolutions:
1) Clean the Attic: Every quarter, clean out a quarter of my attic.
2) Call my church and offer to mentor a female who has expressed a desire to know more about the Bible.
3) Write a note of appreciation quarterly to a nephew or niece who rarely hear from me.
4) Make my Mom’s delicious Oatmeal Raisin Cookies.
That’s it.
Happy New Year everybody!
