Good Morning –
Happy first day of November!
Have you any special plan(s) on your to-do-list for this eleventh month of the year? Other than getting ready for Thanksgiving feasting?
Me — I started my November prepare for winter chill list and so far it reads like this:
– Clean windows inside and out.
– Rearrange and take inventory of items in freezer.
– Rake lots and lots of leaves – every Monday and Thursday. Never a shortage of leaves around here!
– Bring in delicate plants before the first frost decides to do a sneak attack.
– Plant spring bulbs in outdoor containers.
– Assess books I have not read for cozy + comfy winter nights reading in front of the fireplace.
– Launder hats and gloves and winter scarves for warmth and style when moving and shaking outside.
How about you?
Great line up today!

HO-HO-HO FLAIR
Hello November –
Halloween is behind us and we are now heading toward Thanksgiving.
Every Thanksgiving – for years – I have been gifting my mom and sister-in-laws a fancy Christmas ornament to get the Christmas spirit going.
A lot of times I will buy the ornament after Christmas the year before when they are on sale and gift them the following Thanksgiving. Fancy ornaments can be expensive.
Last year I was in Wal-Mart and spotted these gorgeous ornaments in the pics. They are made of resin and the details on the Santa face along with the fur on the Santa hat and the glitter in the beard made a very impressive and expensive looking ornament. They are also fairly large — 6″ long.
The sale cost was only $1.98. So I snagged up 4 of them and are for my two sister-in-laws, my mom, and, of course, one for me.
I love to shop that way — one for them and one for me. Haha
They were all really impressed with these ornaments.
One of my sister-in-laws even commented, “Wow, you must have spent some bucks on these.”
I just batted my eyelashes and said, “You’re worth it.”
LOL
PIC 1
The off white and gold Santa are the ones I bought for them and myself last year.
PIC 2
As I was scrolling online earlier this week checking out Christmas crafts, I came across an article stating, “They are back!”
Wal-Mart has the Santa head ornaments again this year!
PICS
3 & 4
The person who posted this used these cool Santa heads with Dollar Tree trays. The ornament is flat on the back and can be used lots of different ways! Like gluing ornament in the middle of tray, decorating the top of tray with little sprigs of pine tree greenery or mistletoe and ribbon and then displaying the decorative platter on a small tripod picture stand on a fireplace mantle or side table.
I will definitely be going to Wal-Mart soon to buy the Red and White Santa ornaments before they sell out.
I just love easy crafts that are not costly to make but look classy and expensive!
This is totally off the subject of Christmas but I also want to share with you today a little trick I tried a few days ago when making tacos.
I mixed about 3/4 of a can of refried beans to my ground beef so the meat would stick together and not fall out of the taco shell once bitten into.
It worked perfectly! SCORE.
MEME OF THE DAY:
My favorite outdoor activity is getting my packages at
the door and bringing them in.
HAPPY WEEKEND!

TATER RIDES THE MOPED
BY JERRY CLOWER
I checked on Marcel Ledbetter the other day. Marcel’s still hauling pulpwood, and he’s got a young boy named Tater — Tater Ledbetter — that helps him. Tater loves to go to the woodyard ’cause the man that is the manager owns one of them moped motorcycles. While they are unloading the pulpwood ole Tater rides the moped, but he’s forbidden to take it outside the woodyard. This particular day Tater saw an opening in the fence and give it a good kick, hard, and he went right on the road. He pulled up to the red light and stopped.
About that time a brand new Mercedes-Benz — one of them $70,000 ones — pulled out of a brand new showroom, whipped around, pulled on out and stopped at the red light. The driver looked and there was Tater on the moped there. Tater leaned over and put his nose on the glass trying to look in there. The driver of the Mercedes spooled the window down and Tater struck his head over in there and smelled them leather seats. Look at that dashboard! Looks like the console of a brand new cotton gin. Whoooeee! Looka heah, looka heah! “Sir it’s the most beautiful car I ever seen in my life!”
The fellow said, “Thank you, young man. Thank you very much.”
Tater said, “How fast will it go?”
He said, “One hundred twenty!!”
OhHooHoooo! “One hundred twenty!!”
About that time the light changed Tater swung back on the moped and the man took off — I mean really showed Tater how he could do it and just left tire tracks in the middle of the road.
The man’s going along doing about ninety miles an hour and he sees a speck in his rear view mirror. The speck’s getting closer and closer. About that time the speck passes him on the left-hand side. The man driving the Mercedes said, “Good gracious, that looked like that little ole boy on that moped. Ain’t no way that could happen.”
About that time he saw it coming back. It was, have mercy! “He done passed me twice!” He looked in the rear view mirror and here he comes again, right at the back of that Mercedes. And WHAM! He runs into the back bumper. The man slams on brakes, jumps out. Tater done bent the cooter shell on the back of that car, and there he was, laying down, in the middle of that moped, parts strewed everywhere.
The man saw he was breathing, and said, “Oh, son, I sure hope you are all right. Is there anything n the world that I can do for you?”
Tater said, “Yes sir, you can unhook my suspenders from your sideview mirror.”

Stacy has done it again! LOVE her tradition of gifting Christmas ornaments before Christmas. And her way of finding them economically. Super cool!
And her taco trick of adding refried beans to the mix – a sure fix for drippy tacos! Must try!!!
Of course Jerry Clower is his always-humorous best! Can never get enough. . .
Laughing into the weekend!

Interesting how Daymaler began today’s reading with your Fall To Do list I was into my similiar list several days ago and to my surprise I gained energy as I checked those things off the list. It was amazing. Just thought I would pass that on in case you find the same happening.
Thank you Stacy for sharing your proven method of shopping for Christmas gifting. That takes discipline to shop a year ahead and I may add there’s no doubt in my mind that you are a woman on the hunt and enjoying it! Santas bring happiness, no doubt about it.
Now to the SALISBURY Steak: Hooray, fall is here, and along with it comes cozy food for dinner PLUS cook a double portion for leftovers.
Ohhh I almost forgot the question of the day. What guarantees an instant laugh? Watching little children at play.
Always a great read! 👍👍👍
