Thanksgiving Dinner Leftover Ideas

THANKSGIVING DINNER LEFTOVER IDEAS

Hello Monday and hello friends!

Let’s start today with a smile.

Have you finished your Thanksgiving market shopping?
Or still have a few items on your go-get-list?

Me?
I don’t have to worry about the shopping part as I’m gonna travel and be with my precious family and do a little chip in for my $$ contribution while they do all the shopping leg work.

However, I will totally don an apron Thursday morning, roll up my sleeves, jump in and be part of the crew preparing the feast.

Always (!) happy laughter as all of us bump into one another doing our tasks in the kitchen – it’s full throttle getting Thanksgiving on the table in grand fashion like Grandma always did.

Presenting Monday November 25, 2024.

Had a blast collecting these gems to share today!

BEGINNING WITH:

DUCT TAPE BANANA SELLS FOR $6+ MILLION

Most expensive piece of fruit — EVER!
And what’s even more wild (in my mind) is that the buyer plans to eat the banana!
I guess it’s kinda like– what else do ya do with it?

BYE-BYE BIRDIE LEFTOVER TURKEY IDEAS –
I’ve always been a fan of slicing and dicing any leftover turkey, freezing portion size bags for another yum-run after Thanksgiving.

I found these amazings:

458 5 star reviews is all I need to know!

RECIPE (!)
TURKEY ENCHILADAS
** read here **

I’m not a giant fan of using flour tortillas as opposed to corn tortillas regarding enchiladas.
But – to each his/her own.
This recipe sounds outstanding.

RECIPE (!)
THANKSGIVING LEFTOVERS MONKEY BREAD

Too intriguing for me not to give it a little spin in the kitchen.

RECIPE (!)
MINI TURKEY POT PIES
** read here **

Yep, it reads chicken – but leftover Thanksgiving turkey could easily sub for the chicken.
At least in my mind.
And these little mini-pies are just too cool looking not try.

RECIPE (!)
SWEET POTATO PIE COOKIES

Now we jump off the Thanksgiving  leftover turkey train.
How delish do these cookies sound?
Seriously??

A WHOLE LOT OF FUN
Big blast from the past.
A little something from my favorite Thanksgiving movie of all time!
PLANES TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES
Melted Speedometer Scene

If you’ve seen this brilliant, hilarious movie before – I encourage you to revisit again.
My family and I will this Thanksgiving!
If you haven’t — gotta see it.
Total Thanksgiving treat.

I love the idea of embellishing store bought desserts! I like to cook but desserts are not really my thing. I actually have added strawberries and chocolate chips to a store bought cheesecake in the past.

I used to fret about people bumping into people in my tiny kitchen, but now I laugh and keep going and feel thankful for the help and for the abundant food and the love that brought us together. Actually looking forward to it 😉

Great suggestions for personalizing bought desserts and for using leftovers. I’ve been pondering what to do with leftover turkey and the pot pies are my lightening flash moment. We enjoy chicken pot pies, why not turkey? I’m in!!!

Loved the scene from Planes Trains Automoibiles. Still chuckling!!!

Thanks for the happy start to the week!!!!

      Hi Carol –

I, too, am all about the pot pies!
      Are they not adorable?
      Cool idea, for sure!!

Planes Trains Automobiles is so much fun!

John Candy and Steve Martin nailed their characters and I’m thinking they probably had a great time shooting it.
Especially the crew seeing and hearing these 2 masters at their craft teamed up.
Had to be a hilarious show to work on.

Maybe as we all move about our Thanksgiving kitchens this year and “bump” into one another – we could do an extra bump (on purpose) just for fun. Ha

Thanks, Carol for the love and sharing!

Daymaker’s thought for the day peaked my attention: “GRATITUDE IS WHEN MEMORY IS STORED IN THE HEART AND NOT THE MIND.

Wow, do I have a lot of “heart” memories starting back in my childhood and on to current friendships.

Here’s my plan. I’m getting out my notebook later today and sitting quietly with this challenge: List in some sort of chronological order people or sweet incidences I recall in my life. My first memory would start around age 5 when our dog, Lady, had lots of pups.

My girlfriend has always bragged she at age 3 remembered her dad carrying her around! No, I can’t do any age 3, but age 4 barely shows in my memory bank. However, age 5 flows freely. I’m excited about this exercise as I know I’m about to give myself a THANKSGIVING GIFT.

I’m the relaxed driver I can see that. Sure does Seem like art is getting uglier and uglier I wonder what that tells us about our society. I’ve noticed that about architecture as well makes me a little sad the beauty is disappearing slowly Over time. Hope everybody has a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends and family❤️
