Mother Teresa Thoughts + Wholesome Goodness and Silly Fun + Pea Pesto Bruschetta Recipe
Hello
Hola
Bonjour
Monday and friends!
Brand new week = wide open day spaces for possibilities of cool and exciting wonders to present themselves to us.
I’m always up for that!
Check out the wonderful treasures of finds I collected to share today.
Beginning with:
BARKEEPERS FRIEND + HOW TO REMOVE HARD WATER STAINS FROM GLASS
As many of us are in the Spring Cleaning mode – these 2 might be great helpers!
WHOLESOME, COMFORTING POSTS FROM JUST ONE WEEK
Are awesome heartfelt + some silly fun.
My 2 favorites are:
#2 – How does a worm get to a balcony on the 37th floor?
#13 – Some stranger, somewhere remembers you because you were kind to them.
BENEFITS OF PICKLE JUICE
I am totally a fan of pickle juice for muscle contractions in my legs or arches of my feet! Totally works for me in the middle of the night when trying to walk it out isn’t working.
SIMMER POT RECIPES/COMBO IDEAS
Simmer pot = a small pan on the stove on medium low to me – no special simmer pot required around here . Makes my house smell so good.
RECIPES!
Pea Pesto and Goat Cheese Bruschetta – Wow! I am so gonna make this – undoubtedly, all summer long!
Chopped Cheese Sandwich – NY Bodega – style totally has my attention! I don’t know why, but, the term Bodega has always been an intriguing term to me — just has to be a cool and chic someplace I wanna go and check out their specialties sort of thing.
Soooo — because I don’t live near New York or plan to visit in the near immediate future – I will be making this Chopped Cheese Sandwich. It just sounds too delish to miss making it in my kitchen!
Garlic Butter Shrimp fast and easy on a baking sheet?! This hand is raised high in the air!
I’m thinking both over angel hair pasta and toasted baguette slices.
Taco Salad – a great taco salad – has always been a favorite of mine from way back in my time machine in Montana where we sure didn’t know much about Tex-Mex, but efforts were commended. I love the salsa + sour cream combo for the dressing. Double thumbs up to this recipe!
Homemade Hot Fudge Sauce – calling all chocolate lovers! And the variations of the chocolate sauce in the recipe! Winner winner winner.
CANDID CAMERA MICROWAVE MADNESS
Is a short, worthy little watch – full of hahaha. The Candid Camera crew never fails to disappoint with their outside-the-box antics! And the *stars* are people like you and me getting pranked. Greatness.

Re: Mother Teresa quotes. I loved all 15. She and my mother were born the same year and died the same day! Mother Teresa and my mom had much goodness and service in common. Here’s one of my mom’s quotes that has a choice spot in my heart. As Mom was quietly laying in her hospital bed and I in a chair beside her, I gently asked, “Mom, what have you learned in your 87 years of life that you would like to pass on to me your daughter?” She thought a brief moment and quietly spoke 6 words: “Love, love, love, forgive, forgive, forgive.”
Wow, Marty —–
That’s quite extraordinary – both that your mom and Mother Teresa shared so much in common.
What a profound statement of 6 words.
Delighted that the piece presented in the post brought back some warm + tender memories. Beautiful.
Thanks so much for sharing + caring.
Happy day to ya!
Your Mom’s response is beautiful! A lifetime of knowledge boiled down to basics. What an amazing woman.
So many gems here. A friend has asked me to make bruschetta for a party this weekend, and poof! You’ve sent the perfect recipe! The thoughts from Mother Teresa is something timely to share, although everything she said is timeless. I often let her famous quote guide me, “There will be no justice (or peace) until we remember that we belong to each other.”
I think the bruschetta looks + reads = outstanding. Can’t wait to hear the feedback!
Great Mother Teresa quote you shared. What an amazing woman or angel that walked the earth.
Appreciate your thoughts and time, Laurie.
Have a fab day!
You too! Thanks for getting it off to a good start!
So happy to learn the pickle juice hacks, especially for muscle cramps which visit me all too often at night.
Mother Teresa was such an angel. Love her thoughts, every one of them.
Such wonderful recipes! I’m feeling fat and sassy just reading them. . .
Oh, on Sunday I tried Stephanie’s air fryer potato peel chips. Delish! Easy! Fun! A friend happened by just as they came out of the fryer and we offered him a taste. He took the plate and I thought we were going to have to wrestle it away from him 😉
Thanks for a happy start to the week!
Hey Carol –
Shot glasses raised to the pickle juice remedy. Works for me and it works fast (which is soooo important when the cramp feels like it’s going to take another bite at any moment!).
Agreed to Mother Teresa.
Fat and Sassy – I like your attitude, girl! Ha! Indeed, the recipes are a wonderful little collection today.
Yay, for Steph’s air fryer potato peel chips. Hilarious about friend stopping by just in time for a “taste” and next thing you knew — ha
What was that commercial, “You can’t eat just one” campaign? I’ve forgotten what product it was for but I do recall the basic message in the punch line.
So delighted that you enjoyed! We enjoy you + the share + care.
Happy day!
Appreciate the shot glass tip. Definitely will try it.
And, yes, I remember the “can’t eat just one” commercial. Was it Lays Potato Chips?
I think you’re right, Carol. It was Lay’s Potato Chips! Pretty catchy that you and I still remember it after all this time.
Wishing you a day full of joy.
