LET GO OF STRESSES, CUCUMBER PASTA SALAD, CASTLES IN THE UNITED STATES

Happy hello Monday + outstanding readers!

We’ve had plenty of “not messin’ around” rain here in my part of the world over the weekend.
Thunder!  Big time thunder that was the background BOOMS (!) to the sky opening up with hardcore rain falling.  I actually like the sound of thunder.  My cats not so much.  My sister, Jennie, not somuch.  You?

Super cool collection to present today for your enjoyment!

PEOPLE ARE LOSING THEIR UNDERWEAR WHEN THEY TRAVEL
BLEW my mind short read.
2 live SNAKES?!  Yikes.
I actually lost my luggage on Christmas Eve a couple years ago.  The planes didn’t take off – as in with passengers – but my luggage did somehow.  Mine and hundreds and hundreds of others.
I was in line a week later with others trying to locate our bags and the couple behind me told me that their luggage had the husband’s famous family recipe of a giant brisket in the suitcase to take for Christmas.
Uhhhh.  Wonder how that worked out.
But 2 live SNAKES!

GIRAFFE GETS MUCH NEEDED HELP FROM A CHIROPRACTOR
Stole my heart.  I love this Chiropractor/Doctor who helps animals and people.  Why wouldn’t animals need “adjustments” same as us?

CASTLES!  HERE IN THE U.S.?!
I totally wanna go see one/walk through it.  Amazing.

HOMEMADE CHICKEN FEED
I don’t have chickens – but I have in the past – and the eggs are phenomenal.  If only I knew about this recipe, I’d have mixed it and fed it to them.  If you don’t have chickens – perhaps you have a friend who does.  Send this piece to them.  Bet they’ll love it!

10 INTRIGUING ORIGINS OF POPULAR SAYINGS
Is a blast-from-the past intriguing, for sure.  My favorite might be “Bull in a China Shop”.

LET GO OF STRESSES!

A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience.  As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the “half-empty/half full” question.

Instead, with a smile, she inquired, “How heavy is this glass of water?”

Answers called out ranged from 8 oz to 20 oz.

She replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter.  It depends on how long I hold it.

If I hold it for a minute, it’s not a problem.

If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my arm.  If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed.

In each case the weight of the glass doesn’t change — but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.”

She continued, “The stresses and worries in life are like this glass of water.  Think about them for a while and nothing happens.  Think about them a bit longer and they begin to hurt.  And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed.  Incapable of doing anything.”

Next time I am stressing I am going to think about that glass of water…seriously I am. Love the easy chicken salad recipe!

      Agree, Stacy —

Next time I’m stressing — I’m so gonna remember this piece. Puts everything into perspective for sure!

Thanks for your thoughts. Much appreciated.

Sweet sweet giraffe! So heartwarming to hear of the chiropractor who worked his magic on the giraffe’s neck. I’d never considered that a giraffe’s neck would need an adjustment, but it makes sense. The neck covers a lot of real estate after all.

Chili crisp is a totally new spice to me. I’ll try the chicken salad recipe just to use it!

Loved reading about the very grand castles in the US. Didn’t realize there were so many or that they were so elegant. We did stay in Castle Inn Riverside, a B&B in Wichita, KS, some years back. It was quite impressive, though not as magnificent as those in the article. But still a castle experience.

Thanks for an upbeat start to the week 😉

      Hi Carol –

Sweet, sweet giraffe! Super heartwarming + the chiropractor who cares. Super cool.

You won’t be disappointed with the Chili crisp. I read about it first time ever somewhere else quite a while back — but didn’t know about adding to chicken salad! – have some in my fridge.

It’s actually quite good on numerous things: burgers, fries, veggies, pasta, add-in to catsup, scrambled eggs!

Haven’t been brave enough to add on top of ice cream — yet! Ha

The grand castles are something else! I loved finding that piece.

      Delighted you enjoyed.

We sure thank ya for your time and support via feedback!!

      Big Time!

Woweee, Daymaker, thanks for the reminder of our beautiful castles the USA. We’ve toured 3 of them and I can’t say enough about the memories my mind holds of their architectural beauty inside the castles but the perfectly manicured gardens surrounding them. Here are our 3: Hearst Castle (San Simeon, California), Castello Di Amorosa (Calistoga, California) Biltmore Estate (Asheville, North Carolina) Castles definitely are something to consider on your bucket list.

    • Cheryl Clarson says:

Super cool, Marty, that you’ve actually toured 3 grand castles with the manicured gardens, etc …

Thank ya for sharing and castle “bucket list” thought!

      We are grateful.
