CHRISTMAS ART + OWL AND MOUSE PROVERBS TALK + QUICHE, HOMEMADE MARSHMALLOWS, WD 40 STOCKING STUFFER + LAUGHTER AND LOVE

Merry Merry!

Welcome to Monday exactly one week away from Christmas Day!

I enjoyed collecting these gems to share with you.

Beginning with —

CREATIVE CHRISTMAS TREE ideas
I don’t have a favorite.  They’re all blue ribbon original greatness to me.

INTERESTING PHOTOS is better than scrolling through whatever’s on Google feed today.  Can you believe how GIANT the anchor chain of the Titanic was?  Or how thick one (just one) of the cables is that holds up the Golden Gate Bridge?  Crazy!

OFFICE ANTICS had me smiling big time.  Pretty sure offices could sure use some harmless fun to keep the 9-5 shift a little more interesting.

AI VISUALIZING ALL 50 U.S. STATES as Hunger Game contestants had me scrolling through — first of all with my home state and my now home state and checking out states my friends live in or came from.  Pretty spot on.

RECIPES!

HOMEMADE MARSHMALLOWS
still time to “whip up” something special in the kitchen for gift giving or impress guests during this “brrr time” of year.  Wonder how these homemade marshmallows would work with the favorite Rice Krispie Treats?  It’s a must read through the entire recipe to see all the cool variations etc … super interesting.

SPINACH MUSHROOM QUICHE is definitely gonna happen in this home after Christmas paired with the POMEGRANATE & PEAR GREEN SALAD.  No doubt a rock star band combo!

MARINATED FETA – who knew these little blocks could be so cool?  Not me!  My mind is thinking about all the ways I can find to use them in breakfast, lunch and dinner!

HOMEMADE MEXICAN CHORIZO hello!  I kinda wasn’t a fan of chorizo for a long time — there has been a time when I was told that chorizo was made outta stuff that wasn’t my deal — but it sure did taste good.  However, now that I know how to make it myself, I’ll introduce it to eggs, potatoes, burritos, burgers.  YUM!

ROLO CHOCOLATE COOKIES has already stolen my heart.  OMG!  I’ve always been a fan of Rolos (remember the ad Roll a Rolo to your pal?)  Anyway, if we still have time or energy to make one more eating goodie before Christmas, thinking this will be it!  But then there’s Valentine’s Day, a birthday or just an “I love you” to family and friends.

STOCKING STUFFER OF WD-40 is an original + useful + memorable idea!  Who knew it had some many amazing uses?  Again, not me!

THE FRUITCAKE LADY, Marie, is an absolute HOOT!   A great little watch for sure.  I’ve never been a fruitcake fan.  Ughhh.  However, after watching Marie with Jay Leno and Tom Cruise – I’m game to give it another bite this year and see if things between us have changed.  Ha!

THE OWL AND THE MOUSE is without a doubt Proverbs wisdom.

Thank you all for joining us today by reading and commenting and sharing.  We are so thankful.

Here we go.  Click away and enjoy.

BE FEARLESSLY AUTHENTIC

There’s a story about a wise ol’ owl in a tree and a little mouse came before him on the ground and wanted to ask some questions from the wise ol’ owl:

Mouse asks Owl:
“Most useless thing to do?”

Owl replies:
Worry.

Mouse asks owl:
“The greatest joy?”

Owl replies:
Giving.

Mouse asks owl:
“The greatest loss?”

Owl replies:
Self respect.

Mouse asks owl:
“Most satisfying work?”

Owl replies:
Helping others.

Mouse asks owl:
“Ugliest personality?”

Owl replies:
Selfishness.

Mouse asks owl:
“Most endangered species?”

Owl replies:
Dedicated leaders.

Mouse asks owl:
“Greatest gift to share?”

Owl replies:
Encouragement.

Mouse asks owl:
Best sleeping aide?”

Owl replies:
Peace of mind.

PROBABLY, THE REASON WE ALL GO SO HAYWIRE AT CHRISTMAS TIME, WITH THE ENDLESS, UNRESTRAINED, AND OFTEN SILLY BUYING OF GIFTS, IS THAT WE DON’T KNOW HOW TO PUT OUR LOVE INTO WORDS.

The fruitcake lady had me laughing out loud. Love her!

Also enjoyed the amazing photos and WD 40 hacks. And owl wisdom. And the recipes! Renewing my gym membership after all the yummies these past several weeks 😉

    Loved it all! Happy Monday!!!

    • Cheryl Clarson says:

      Hi Carol –

Pretty sure I’m gonna renew my gym membership, too! So much wonderful food to be had this time of year.

Fruitcake Lady absolutely goes down as one of my favorites. Wasn’t about Leno or Tom Cruise – that beautiful little feisty piece of business owned that episode – hands down! Seemed like Tom Cruise and Jay Leno were having a blast with her as well.

Thank you so much for reading + commenting + spreading the love!

      OH WHAT FUN

  2. Marty says:

I love Daymaker and especially the wisdom stuff like the wise owl today. Sooo, here’s one I heard several years ago that saves me from thinking i need to voice a comment: YOU DON’T HAVE TO SWING AT EVERY PITCH.

    • Cheryl Clarson says:

      Hey Marty –

Don’t have to swing at every pitch is indeed sage advice. A cooler way of saying, “Keep your lips zipped.” ha

Appreciate ya and your comments and time.

      MERRY CHRISTMAS
