PAUL HARVEY, VIETNAMESE SPRING ROLLS, ZOTE SOAP, INSPIRATION

Hi!

Good Morning and Good Monday greetings –
I had a chill, relaxed weekend.  Hung out with some friends and shared a lot of laughter.  Always best times in the making!  You?

Great line-up of collected fascinatings to present today.

BEGINNING WITH:

BUILDING A SHIP IN A BOTTLE
AWE-SOME short watch.  I’m pretty sure, knowing me, I wouldn’t have that kind of disciplined patience to do such a piece of art.  And it is art.  I would have the patience to write a little note and slide it inside a bottle, cork it, and toss it in to the ocean.  Ha!

11 THINGS YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT THE “PEANUTS” COMIC STRIP
I didn’t.  Without a doubt the most iconic comic strip ever.

TIMES PEOPLE FOUND SOMETHINGS WILD + UNEXPECTED + SUPER MEMORABLE COOL
Makes me think of something(s) I’ve found along the way that have a special spot in my memory labeled “unforgettable.

ZOTE SOAP
Yep, actually know about this fantastic pink bar.  My mom turned me on to it years ago – as one of her house cleaners told her about it.  I’ve got a bar in my laundry room and I know how to use it.  It works!

  • RECIPES (!)

VEGAN PEARL COUSCOUS SALADWOWZER.  Fresh, wonderful, filling and ready to roll for picnics, road trips, or grab-and-go to work.
PIZZA BOWLS – hands to the sky – YUMMO!  I like Italian sausage and green pepper in my bowl.
VIETNAMESE RICE PAPER ROLLS – I could eat my weight in these babies.  They’re SO. SO. GOOD!  And thanks to Nagi, we can all make them at home.
STACKED BEEF ENCHILADAS – ‘nough said.  The recipe and reviews — stellar and easy peasy to throw together.
FUDGY LEMON BROWNIES – kinda had me thinking (chocolate and lemon?)  But, nope.  It’s all about the density of the bars that give them the title of “brownies.”

PAUL HARVEY’S REST OF THE STORY – FARM BOY
Is super-duper interesting about an artist I’m pretty sure we all know of unless you’ve been living on an island with no newspapers.  Although, I’m dying to give away “The Rest of the Story” — I refrain.  All I’m gonna say is the letter “G”.

CONFIDENCE AND SELF ESTEEM
Love this piece!  Delighted that I saved it all these years in my email collection to share today.  Meaningful.

THANKS ALL
For your time today + sharing + engaging.
We feel the love!  And we are grateful.

CONFIDENCE AND SELF ESTEEM

Confidence and Self-Esteem were best friends.  They went everywhere together.  If Confidence bought a new dress, Self-Esteem bought one just like it.  They were very close.

One day a new kid came to their school.  His name was Peer Pressure.  He had a friend called Hateful Words.  They decided to give Confidence a hard time.

They constantly teased her.  They forced her to do terrible things.  It was so terrible that Confidence lost Self-Esteem.  When Self-Esteem wanted to start some classes, Confidence said they wouldn’t be any good.

Then one day, Peer Pressure introduced Confidence to Doubt.  He wanted to ruin Confidence, but Peer Pressure said he couldn’t yet.  Self Esteem couldn’t understand what was wrong with Confidence.  Confidence now hung around with Depression, Low Self-Esteem, and Overeating.

These girls were friends of Peer Pressure.  Self-Esteem no longer had any friends.  She no longer felt good about herself.  She went to se her Imaam.  Imaam Good Words told her how to talk to Confidence.  He introduced her to his daughter, Encouragement.

Encouragement and Self-Esteem went to find Confidence.  Self-Esteem hoped she wasn’t too late.  The girls found Confidence in a stupor.  She was no longer a vibrant, happy young girl.  There were dark circles under her eyes.  She had gained so much weight from eating that she couldn’t move.

Encouragement gasped and Self-Esteem cried.  She begged Encouragement to do something.

Encouragement began to hug Confidence.  She kissed her and loved her and told her that she was a beautiful young lady who had a lot going for her.

Encouragement held Confidence so tightly that Self-Esteem thought she would smother her.  Confidence began to cry.  As she cried, she seemed to lose weight.  Then a bright light suddenly glowed from Confidence and she began to smile.

Peer Pressure and his friends didn’t like what Encouragement was doing and tried to attack her.  They hit at her and pulled at her, put they couldn’t pull her away from Confidence.  Then Confidence began to speak.

“Get away from me, Peer Pressure.  Take your friends and go.  You no longer have any power over me.”

Confidence was now a glowing light.  She and her friends made sure that Peer Pressure and his gang never bothered anyone in their town again.

Today’s Daymaker’s Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls with dipping SAUCE is where I’m heading. I’ve eaten enough of them, especially with chicken that I couldn’t be happier to accept the challenge to make my own.

“DISCIPLINE IS DOING WHAT YOU HATE TO DO, BUT DO IT LIKE YOU LOVE IT” Isn”t that a fact? And yes, when I throw a little “This is fun, this is great!” self talk certainly gets me moving and soon attitude adjustment kicks in. Thanks for the reminder Daymaker.

Loved the Mike Tyson quote. And Paul Harvey’s The Rest of the Story (I always suspected Garfield’s creator was more than just enamored of cats). And the wild and cool findings. And the lemon brownies. And, etc.

Ahhh! Ready for whatever the day throws at me!!!

    Love DayMaker!
